Artist Bio:

My name is Codi Payne. I like to joke that I was raised in the tri-county area after spending my early childhood in Clontarf, attending kindergarten in Sacred Heart, first and second grade in Benson, and finishing high school in Montevideo, MN. I attended NDSU for 4.5 years for agriculture education. I currently live in Granite Falls with my two cats, Professor McGonagall and Luna Lovegood. I love hiking and exploring nature, especially along the North Shore. In my professional time, I am an agriculture educator, who loves animal and plant sciences, at Lakeview in Cottonwood.

Throughout our lives on this elegantly designed planet , we all experience some form of elation, laughter, joy, struggles, confusion, growth, grief, or trauma. We have all needed help learning how to cope. Personally, writing and journaling have always been a way to look at my thoughts and feelings from a different perspective. Writing has become a way for me to share my deepest thoughts and feelings about life with my friends and family.

Other than being a forest fairy or a vet, I used to imagine being a writer that could immerse my reader into the world I created for them. I am exceedingly excited for this opportunity to explore different mediums bringing my art to life for exploration within my community.
