Gather together with Nicole Zempel to learn and sample a wild variety of sustainably harvested foods and beverages from right here in the Minnesota River Valley!
This is a time to ask questions, share stories and information about experiences with wild plants and mushrooms.
During this workshop you will learn how to identify the wild plants and mushrooms that you will sample, learn about their unique health benefits and healing powers and how to preserve and prepare them!
All participants will receive:
A special serving of a VARIETY of complementary wild beverages paired with wild foods and deserts
A smorgasbord of complementary wild food samples
A take home “goodie bag”
Take Home Resource Materials of the featured wild foods and beverages as well as Plant and Mushroom Identification that will aid in future exploration
Take Home Recipe Cards of the featured wild foods and beverages
A chance to sign up for special door prizes!
Wild Roots Products will also be made available for purchase!
Registration is on a sliding scale ranging from $10 – $30, we welcome you to contribute what you can. Registration is required.
Nicole Zempel of Wild Roots MN Bio:
While born and raised in the Minnesota River Valley, it still wasn't until about ten years ago that curiosity led me deep into the wonders of nature. This incredible desire to explore and learn from the natural world has only grown and intensified in the years since.
I’ve become just as passionate about sharing what I see and learn with others. As an enthusiast, forager, artist and regular contributor to Pioneer PBS's Prairie Sportsman "Fast Forage" segments, I get to shine a light on the interconnectedness, intelligence, and often unseen or misunderstood aspects of nature.
Whether it be through interactive workshops, art classes and exhibits, or hands-on foraging experiences and nature walks - it is always my hope to inspire others to form their own unique relationship with the natural world.
