Our Learn From Your Neighbor Series is back at The YES! House with Don Sherman on Thursday, October 15th!! Come, slow down, and get creative.
In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you will paint and draw with tea and various media on handmade paper, while exploring the playful, centuries-old practices of tea leaf reading (tasseography). We will be getting into the fun of personifying symbols and styles of beautiful expression.
Beginning with a short slideshow of artist works done in this spirit, we’ll talk about the science of why art is good for our well-being, drawing on Daisy Fancourt's book Art Cure.
This is a great starting point for anyone curious about creativity.
All ages and levels of experience are welcome. Please bring a teacup and saucer if you are able. All materials are provided and our space is ADA accessible!
Come as you are and leave with a few new pieces of your own.
There will be a limited number of people for this event so register early!
