"Every Brilliant Thing" | An Interactive Solo Play by Theatre B

Join us at The YES! House on Saturday, April 18 for a Theatre B touring production of "Every Brilliant Thing" by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, directed by Scott Ecker and featuring alternating performances by Alex Kleven and Christopher Taylor.
"Every Brilliant Thing" is a powerful, interactive solo play exploring hope, mental health, and the small joys that keep us going. The evening begins with a moving performance that follows a child who, after their mother’s suicide attempt, starts a list of everything worth living for—growing from simple delights like ice cream and the color yellow into a lifelong reflection on love, loss, and resilience.
Presented in an intimate, participatory format, the play invites audience members to become part of the storytelling, creating a unique theatrical experience at every performance. Through humor, vulnerability, and warmth, Every Brilliant Thing opens space for compassionate conversations about mental health and the importance of community support.
Critics around the world have praised the play for its delicate balance of humor and honesty. Following the performance, audience members are invited to participate in a facilitated conversation with a licensed mental health professional, creating space for connection, reflection, and meaningful dialogue around mental health and community support.
